From Vanuatu
So small is the cocoa production on the island of Malekula in Vanuatu that it doesn't even register on the world's cocoa scale of production. This makes our Malekula cocoa rather rare and the journey there well worth it. The cocoa-farming village is in the centre of the island with a single church, store and track. It's an 8-hour boat journey from Port Vila or you can risk a plane ride, but if the pilot doesn't see you standing on the grass strip for your return flight he'll simply fly onto the next island!
