MAKES 9
INGREDIENTS
125g shelled pistachios
100g walnuts, roughly chopped
1 tsp ground cardamom
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Zest of 1 orange
Zest of 1 lemon
2 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp rose water
100g Create with Firetree cooking chocolate, melted
Ground pistachios and rose petals to decorate (optional)
METHOD
- Preheat your oven to 180ºC/160ºC fan/350ºF.
- Add the pistachios, walnuts, cardamom, cinnamon, orange zest, lemon zest, maple syrup and rose water to a large mixing bowl. Mix well.
- Transfer into silicon moulds or a small loaf tin lined with baking paper.
- Bake for 8-12 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool completely before removing from the moulds or slicing. The mixture will harden as it cools.
- Once cooled, you can either drizzle the melted chocolate into the moulds while the bars are still in there so the chocolate encapsulates the bars, or you can simply dip them in melted chocolate.
- Chill for 2 hours, or until the chocolate is set.
- Decorate with a sprinkle of ground pistachios and rose petals just before serving, if you wish.
