TWO STARS FOR OUR ELEGANT CHOCOLATE THINS
Top of the pile is our popular Vanuatu, Malekula Island 72% Cocoa Dark Chocolate Bar and once again it has scooped a 2-star award. Judges said "this bar is slow to melt on the tongue, but does so with a creamy texture and fruity notes of lingering cherry and soft lemon."
STARS FOR OUR FAVOURITES
We're also delighted to see our favourites, and yours, recognised with 1-star awards, including our Madagascar, Sambirano Valley 84% Cocoa Dark Chocolate Bar with "fruitiness bursting to get out", our Philippines, Mindanao Island 73% Cocoa Dark Chocolate Thins judged to be "beautifully attractive rounds with a good snap", and our Solomon Islands, Makira 75% Cocoa Dark Chocolate Bar which judges agreed is a chocolate where "the origin shines" and "the finish is lengthy and indulgent".
A NEW STAR IN THE MAKING
Also a winner at the first time of entering is our Solomon Islands, Guadalcanal 82% Cocoa Dark Chocolate Bar. Often overlooked in favour of the more well-known Madagascar, it's a chocolate that oozes deeper cocoa tones and rich fruit. Judges agreed, awarding it a 1-star and noting that the "flavours slowly develop with fruitiness and plum coming through."
These awards are a reward for the dedication of our cocoa growers and for the skill and expertise of our chocolate makers. That we can be awarded for so many of our products, when hundreds are entered from around the world and only one in three receives a star rating, is thanks to them.
