INGREDIENTS
400g fresh strawberries
100g Firetree chocolate, any from our 40% - 100% cocoa collection
Optional extra sprinkles: Finely crushed toasted almonds, hazelnuts or pistachios, lightly toasted desiccated coconut or finely crushed cookie crumbs.
METHOD
1. Line a baking sheet with nonstick baking paper. Place any of the optional extra toppings in small bowls.
2. Melt the chocolate in a small glass heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water, stirring often, and making sure the bowl does not touch the water.
3. One at a time, hold the strawberry by the stalk and dip them in the melted chocolate until at least half covered, allowing any excess to drip back into the bowl. Once dipped, lay the strawberries on the lined baking sheet. Sprinkle over any extra toppings, if using.
4. Chill the strawberries in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set. You can make and chill these up to 2 hours ahead of time. Any longer and the strawberries will become too juicy, if you wish to make these up to 4 hours in advance, then once they are set, simply place them a layer of kitchen towel to absorb any excess juices. These are best eaten at room temperature.
